Head-to-head

Voomly vs Adilo

You cut the list to two hosts. One builds the funnel in the player. The other offers unlimited streaming and fires the ad pixel.

By Mara Vance, reviewed by the VSL Host Report desk. Updated October 2026.

Quick answer

Pick Voomly if you need interactive video funnels and email capture in the player, with Doodly and Toonly on the Cloud plan and unlimited bandwidth on Plus; pick Adilo if you need unlimited streaming on the free plan, a built-in recorder, in-video buy buttons, Facebook and Google pixels, and a two-video test, and you can live with reports of bugs and slow support. If you buy cold traffic and need the cart to post the verified sale back to the ad platform, with retention split between buyers and non-buyers, TrackPlay is the host for that job.

You cut the list to two, and the video has to go on the page this week. Compare bandwidth and in-player calls to action before you compare brand names.

Where Voomly pulls ahead

What works

  • Plus removes the bandwidth cap, so a long sales video with heavy traffic has a flat monthly fee. Basic keeps a monthly bandwidth cap.
  • The Cloud plan bundles Standard versions of Doodly, Toonly and Talkia with hosting, for people who also make the videos.
  • Basic is the entry paid plan.

What to watch

  • It is a creation suite first. Its analytics are engagement graphs and heatmaps, with no sale-level attribution or pixel postbacks.
  • The player's conversion features are basic next to Vidalytics or TrackPlay.

Funnels in the player, or pixels on the view

Voomly's homepage sells interactive in-video funnels, a squeeze player and lead funnels. The viewer moves through a path inside the video, and the path collects an email. A hook, a gate, then a different offer for the person who opted in: that is the sequence the funnels are for. A drag-and-drop studio sits in the same account.

Adilo's features page puts the form and the buy button on a single video. You can place an opt-in form, a buy button and a banner, and you can install Facebook and Google pixels that fire while someone watches. The same page can test two thumbnails, or two videos, and show which one gets more views or which one converts. The analytics page adds heatmaps, play rate, watch time and a watch history for each contact. Recording stays in the account: SnapByte captures the screen, the camera, or both, up to 4K.

Voomly's pricing page lists engagement graphs, heatmaps, geolocation, devices and browsers on the paid tiers. Those lines describe the audience and where they dropped off. Adilo's pixels are the retargeting signal to Facebook and Google. Heatmaps on both hosts show where viewers dropped off. The section after the prices separates people who bought from people who only watched.

Course files are a different purchase on Adilo. Multi-DRM encryption and dynamic watermarking come as the Unified Video Security add-on, for a paid lesson library. You can skip the add-on for a public sales page.

If the other name on your list is a purpose-built sales player, Panda Video vs Voomly and Vidalytics vs Voomly weigh that player against this suite.

Plus is the flat-rate plan

Voomly's pricing page lists Plus at $19 a month, or $190 a year shown as $16 a month, with unlimited videos, unlimited bandwidth, 2TB of storage and 10 video funnels. Basic, at the price in the table, includes 30 videos, 1TB of storage, 20GB of bandwidth and 3 video funnels. Cloud is $49 a month and includes Standard versions of Doodly, Toonly, Talkia, People Builder, Pyks and Voomly, with 7TB of storage and funnels without a cap. The page also offers a 14-day trial and a 30-day refund.

The drawing and cartoon apps are on Cloud. Basic and Plus are the host and the funnels. Cloud is the plan for someone who will make the video in those apps. Plus is enough when the file already exists and the bandwidth bill has to stay flat.

Adilo's pricing page says you can host as many videos, audio files and podcasts as you like. Streaming is unlimited on every plan, including a free signup with no card. The paid Unlimited plan meters storage.

Heavy traffic is where those meters split. Plus is a flat bill. Basic is the plan with the bandwidth cap above. Adilo offers unlimited streaming and charges for the storage you use. The VSL hosting cost calculator runs one video through each host. Cheap video hosting compares bandwidth, plays and minutes across more hosts.

Bugs, billing and lifetime deals

A Reddit thread from someone who left Vimeo calls Voomly a bit buggy, and still calls the monthly bandwidth unlimited. A second post says the charges kept coming after the person canceled. That is one account's billing complaint, and it is the reason to watch the first renewal.

Capterra reviewers describe Adilo as very buggy. One Trustpilot review describes more than 25 support contacts during a year-plus of use, for bugs and server issues. That support burden comes alongside the pixels and unlimited streaming.

Lifetime-deal buyers report being pushed onto a subscription to keep access, with 28 days to move their videos if they decline. If your account came from a deal, that window is the one to plan around.

When the sale has to be tied to the play

TrackPlay homepage headed The VSL player that counts sales, with a dashboard showing plays, visitors, conversions and revenue.

TrackPlay is a VSL player and analytics platform for paid-traffic funnels. It ties the viewing session to the sale and posts that conversion back to the ad platforms. Reach for it when the question is which play earned the purchase. Voomly and Adilo both stop before that question.

TrackPlay's features page names ClickBank, BuyGoods, Digistore24, WarriorPlus, JVZoo and Kiwify. Those carts send the completed sale back to the viewing session. A play counts as a genuine viewer session. If the video starts muted and nobody turns the sound on, that view is not counted. Retention is tracked second by second and split between buyers and non-buyers. It shows how long buyers watched, and where everyone else dropped off.

TrackPlay is narrow by design. It is built for paid-traffic VSL conversion, so it has none of the channels, SEO pages or webinar tooling of a Wistia, and it is a poor fit if the video's job is content marketing rather than a direct-response sale. That matters less on a cold-traffic sale, and more when you are building a content library. The player, the retention split and the cart postback still apply on that sale.

It is a very new product. Testimonials are on its own site, and independent reviews are still scarce, so outside proof is thin before you spend on traffic. That is what a platform this new looks like.

If attribution is the question, the longer comparison with Voomly is TrackPlay vs Voomly. The Voomly review and the Adilo review each cover one host on its own.

Our pick

Voomly

Voomly is the pick if you want interactive funnels in the player and the creation apps on the Cloud plan, with the bandwidth cap removed on Plus.

Frequently asked questions

Can I host a sales video on the free plan?
Voomly's free row limits how many videos you can keep. Adilo's free row includes unlimited streaming, with a smaller tool set than the paid storage plan. Heavy traffic belongs on a paid row for either host.
Which host fires Facebook or Google pixels in the player?
Adilo. Its features page lists pixels that fire inside the video. Voomly's paid analytics list is engagement, location and device data.
Which costs less when the video gets heavy traffic?
Plus is a flat bill. Adilo's paid plan charges for storage. Basic is the Voomly plan with a bandwidth cap. The calculator in the pricing section runs your length and your traffic.
Does either one send the purchase back to the ad account?
The cart postback is the TrackPlay section. Voomly records engagement. Adilo records the view through its pixels. TrackPlay vs Voomly is the longer version of that fork.
Does Voomly include the whiteboard and cartoon tools?
Those apps sit on the Cloud line in the pricing section, with the other Standard tools named there. The two lower paid plans are the host and the funnels.
What if I bought an Adilo lifetime deal?
Buyers who came in on a lifetime deal have reported being asked to take a subscription to keep the account. Read that note in the lifetime-deal paragraph before you assume the old terms still hold.
