Head-to-head
Wistia vs Adilo
Down to Wistia or Adilo? One bills bandwidth and sells a CRM plan. The other leaves plays unmetered.
Quick answer
Pick Wistia if you run a B2B video library or webinars and need HubSpot, Marketo or Pardot scoring on the Signals plan; pick Adilo if you want plays left unmetered on the free plan and the paid storage plan, with buy buttons and ad pixels in the player, and you can live with slower support. When the cart has to post the verified sale back to the ad account, TrackPlay is the host for that job.
These two both put a call to action on the video, but they are built for different buyers. Wistia is built for a video library, webinars, and a connection into the CRM. Adilo includes unlimited plays on every plan, and it puts the buy button, the form and the ad pixel on the video.

Where Adilo pulls ahead
What works
- Unlimited streaming and bandwidth on every plan, including the free one, so a long VSL on heavy cold traffic never runs up an overage bill. Storage is the only thing metered on the paid plan.
- A real marketing layer sits inside the player: in-video buy buttons, lead and email capture forms, callout banners, countdown timers and Facebook and Google retargeting pixels, plus A/B video split testing and engagement heatmaps.
- One tool covers a lot of ground: ad-free 4K hosting, a built-in screen and camera recorder, branded channel pages, AI subtitles in 31 languages, and DRM with per-viewer watermarking as a security add-on.
What to watch
- Users across review sites call the platform buggy and slow, with pages that need reloading and videos that sometimes fail to process, and support can be slow to resolve those problems.
- Attribution stops at retargeting pixels. Adilo fires a Facebook or Google pixel on a view, but no server-to-server sale reaches the ad platforms, so you still cannot see which play earned the purchase.
Calls to action on each player
Wistia's homepage describes one place to host and make videos, run webinars, and see what is driving impact. You get a video library, webinars, and a report on what people watched.
Buttons, forms, heatmaps and A/B tests start on the Business plan. The free plan leaves the Wistia logo on the player. The automation page is the next step. A viewer who watched 75 percent, or who clicked the button in the video, can become a score and a trigger in HubSpot, Marketo or Pardot.
Adilo's homepage puts the offer on the video. You can add a buy button, a lead form, a banner and a countdown timer, run a split test, and see a heatmap. You can add Facebook and Google pixels to the player. Adilo says those pixels show the return each video generated.

The recorder is in the same account. Adilo's homepage promises 4K video, clear audio, and unlimited recording time for the screen and the camera. Adilo also advertises a one-click import, and a Wistia library is one of the sources.
Protection for paid course videos is a separate add-on. Adilo's pricing page sells Unified Video Security for multi-DRM encryption, dynamic watermarking, and limits by country or IP address.
If Vimeo is the other general host on your list, Wistia vs Vimeo compares those two.
Lead scores and ad pixels
Signals turns a watch milestone or a button click into a scored lead that a salesperson can follow up with. A media buyer who pays for traffic when an order is completed needs that purchase tied to the play. The last section on this page covers that connection. Signals produces the lead score.
Adilo's pixel is what its homepage describes. The ad account can retarget the viewer, and Adilo talks about the return on that video. A cart message that attaches the order to the viewing session is a separate record.
Wistia's bandwidth article names one common spike: a video on a landing page that is getting paid-ad traffic. A sales page running paid ads matches that description. The next section covers what the extra gigabytes cost.
Bandwidth on Wistia, storage on Adilo
Wistia's pricing page caps free bandwidth at 200 GB, in addition to the storage and the single user shown in the table. Business, billed annually, includes 250 GB or more of storage, 1 TB of bandwidth and at least three users, and it removes the Wistia logo. The buttons and the tests in the table start on this plan.
CRM scoring is a different line on that page. HubSpot, Marketo and Pardot, with lead scoring, cost $329 a month billed annually. Hosting the file and syncing the CRM are two separate purchases. Each extra user costs $25 a month.
Bandwidth past the allowance is billed as an overage, per gigabyte, on the monthly billing date. A prepaid pack that adds another terabyte costs $150 a month.
Adilo charges for storage on the paid plan. Plays and bandwidth are unmetered on that plan and on the free plan. You can start the free plan without a credit card. The free plan includes fewer tools. The paid plan is the storage upgrade.
Adilo's pitch is a lower bill once a lot of people watch the video. Wistia lists a landing page with paid-ad traffic as a reason bandwidth jumps. Extra usage is billed as an overage, or covered by the prepaid pack above. Play volume stays off Adilo's bill. A team that wants CRM scores pays the automation price above. Those are two different purchases.
The VSL hosting cost calculator runs one sales video through hosts that publish a per-play or per-gigabyte rate.
What reviewers report about Adilo support
Capterra reviewers describe waits of several days before Adilo support replies.
A Trustpilot review from a long-term user says they contacted support more than 25 times for bugs and server problems over more than a year.
Capterra's comparison of the two lists 172 reviews for Wistia and 742 for Adilo. The larger set is where complaints about slow replies and repeated tickets show up.
When the purchase has to be tied to the play

TrackPlay is a video hosting and analytics platform for paid-traffic sales videos. It hosts the video with a single embed, and the cart sends the verified sale back to the play that produced it. Choose it when the ad account needs the completed purchase. Wistia sends a score to the CRM. Adilo's pixel records the view. TrackPlay sends the order.
The carts that send the completed sale are ClickBank, ClickFunnels, Kiwify, BuyGoods, Digistore24, WarriorPlus and JVZoo. The cart sends the completed sale to TrackPlay server to server. TrackPlay then sends that conversion to Meta, TikTok and GA4 at a watch-time point you choose, and it drops duplicate browser and server events.
Split tests use that same embed, so the ad URL can stay the same when you change the video. The winning version is the one that produced sales, judged with a statistical test that includes a p-value and a confidence interval.
Retention is drawn second by second and split between buyers and everyone else, with the median pitch moment marked. Hook rate, hold rate and revenue per play sit next to that curve. Playback starts with sound when the browser allows it. When the browser blocks sound, the video starts muted and turns the sound on at the viewer's first click, without restarting, and TrackPlay reports the unmute rate.
You can try the paid features for 14 days. Paid plans charge for plays, and every feature is included on every paid plan. The TrackPlay price in the table is where paid plans start. No credit card is required for the free plan.
TrackPlay is narrow by design. It is built for paid-traffic sales videos, so it lacks the channels, SEO pages and webinar tools that Wistia includes for a content library. If your video's job is content marketing, Wistia is the right host for that job. For a direct-response sale, you still get the player, the split between buyers and other viewers, and the cart postback.
TrackPlay is a very new product. The testimonials are on its own site, and there are few independent reviews, so outside proof is thin before you spend on ads. That is normal for a platform this new.
TrackPlay vs Wistia covers that decision in more detail. The TrackPlay review, the Wistia review and the Adilo review each cover one host.
