## Spotlightr alternatives

Leaving Spotlightr because the VSL now has to prove sales, the bandwidth bill grew, or the reports fell short? These hosts fix each of those.

People who look past Spotlightr usually hit one of three walls. The sales video now runs on paid traffic and Spotlightr cannot say which plays became orders. A long video on heavy traffic runs past the plan's bandwidth and the overage starts to outweigh the fee. Or the reports feel thin, which a [reviewer on G2](https://www.g2.com/compare/spotlightr-vs-vdocipher) raised when asking for better tracking metrics.

### My take

I'd judge a Spotlightr replacement by the wall you hit, and I would not move a course library just to fix the VSL. Lessons can stay where they are while the sales video moves to a conversion player. For bandwidth, try Spotlightr's own hybrid hosting first: its [bandwidth article](https://docs.spotlightr.com/en/articles/1479377-using-cdn-bandwidth) says files kept on YouTube or S3 are not metered. A [Reddit user](https://www.reddit.com/r/MarketersSuccessClub/comments/1mn5yh9/what%5Fare%5Fthe%5Fbest%5Fvideo%5Fhosting%5Fplatforms%5Ffor/) praising its support is a reason to ask them before you leave.

Quick answer

If your video has to sell to cold traffic and report the sale, move the VSL to a conversion player near the top of the ranking. If bandwidth overage pushed you out, Voomly's Plus plan includes unlimited bandwidth, and if lessons leak, VdoCipher puts DRM on every plan.

### Spotlightr alternatives, ranked

[ ](/reviews/trackplay)

#### 1\. TrackPlay: best for VSLs scored on the sale

TrackPlay is the pick if you run paid traffic to a VSL and need every play tied to the actual sale.

Spotlightr can gate a viewer and tag them in your CRM. TrackPlay is a VSL player and analytics platform for paid-traffic funnels: sound-first autoplay and timed CTAs, retention split by buyers and non-buyers, split tests decided by real sales, and the cart-verified sale posted back to Meta, TikTok and GA4\. It is narrow by design and is not a general host, so a course library would stay on Spotlightr or another host. It is also very new, with little outside review history and invite-only signup, which is what you would expect of a platform at this stage.

#### 2\. Vidalytics: best for a proven sales player

Vidalytics is the pick if you want a proven direct-response player with deep conversion analytics and can live with bandwidth-based pricing.

The established conversion player. Its retention reporting is built for trimming a VSL second by second, which is the depth Spotlightr's reviewers ask for. Our [Vidalytics vs Voomly](/compare/vidalytics-vs-voomly) comparison sets it side by side with a cheaper marketer host.

#### 3\. Panda Video: best for course sellers

Panda Video is the pick if you sell courses or run affiliate offers and want VSL features with serious anti-piracy.

[ ](/reviews/voomly)

#### 4\. Voomly: best for cheap make-and-host

Voomly is the pick if you want to make videos and host them cheaply, with unlimited bandwidth, in one suite.

If the bandwidth meter is why you are leaving, Voomly's Plus plan includes unlimited bandwidth, so a long VSL costs the same whatever the traffic. Its analytics are lighter than a dedicated conversion player's.

#### 8\. Bunny Stream: best for developers

Bunny Stream is the pick if you have a developer and want cheap, fast, protected video delivery, and you are willing to build the VSL conversion layer yourself. It is not a sales-video player out of the box.

[ ](/reviews/cloudflare-stream)

#### 9\. Cloudflare Stream: best for Cloudflare users

Cloudflare Stream is the pick if you have a developer and want cheap, predictable, global video delivery on a network that will not buckle under load, and you are ready to build the VSL conversion layer yourself. It is not a sales-video player out of the box.

[Read the Cloudflare Stream review](/reviews/cloudflare-stream)

[ ](/reviews/mux-video)

#### 10\. Mux: best for developer teams

Mux is the pick if you have a developer and want included quality-of-experience analytics, optional DRM and fast just-in-time publishing, and you will build autoplay, calls to action and attribution yourself.

[Read the Mux review](/reviews/mux-video)

[ ](/reviews/presto-player)

#### 11\. Presto Player: best for WordPress sites

Presto Player is a credible WordPress video layer for branded sales pages, timed calls to action and lead capture. Budget for a separate video host, and choose a dedicated VSL platform if sale attribution or experiments judged on sales matter most to you.

[ ](/reviews/vdocipher)

#### 12\. VdoCipher: best for DRM-protected video

VdoCipher is the pick if you sell lessons or premium video behind a login, a leaked download would cost you real sales, and the video does not have to sell to cold traffic by itself.

[Read the VdoCipher review](/reviews/vdocipher)

[ ](/reviews/vidyard)

#### 13\. Vidyard: best for B2B sales outreach video

Vidyard is the pick if you run a B2B sales or customer success team that sends short personal videos to prospects and wants to see who watched, inside the tools your reps already use.

[Read the Vidyard review](/reviews/vidyard)

[ ](/reviews/gumlet)

#### 14\. Gumlet: best for bundled bandwidth without code

Gumlet is the pick if you want a hosted player with in-video CTAs, ad pixels and optional DRM at a bundled bandwidth price, and you do not need the host to tie a play to the sale.

### How we picked these alternatives

We ranked each alternative on the same five things we judge every host on: player behaviour on paid traffic, depth of retention analytics, how it attributes the sale, pricing model, and what long-term users report. We read each vendor's own docs and pricing and verified prices before publishing. Full method: [how we research](/methodology).

#### How I'd decide

I'd judge any Spotlightr alternative on two numbers before I read its feature list: what one sales video costs a month for the traffic you run, and what the player gives back for that money. The [VSL hosting cost calculator](/best/vsl-hosting-cost-calculator-what-one-sales-video-costs-on-each-host) works out the first from your video length, visitors and watch rate, using each vendor's published rates. For the second, I would weigh what long-term users report, such as [one user's report on Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/MarketersSuccessClub/comments/1mn5yh9/what%5Fare%5Fthe%5Fbest%5Fvideo%5Fhosting%5Fplatforms%5Ffor/) and [another on G2](https://www.g2.com/compare/spotlightr-vs-vdocipher), above any vendor's own claims.

### Frequently asked questions

What is the best Spotlightr alternative for a VSL?

A conversion player from the top of the ranking, because those tie plays to sales and Spotlightr does not.

What is the cheapest alternative for heavy bandwidth?

Voomly's unlimited-bandwidth plan, or Bunny Stream if a developer can build the player features.

Which alternative protects lessons best?

VdoCipher, with Widevine and FairPlay DRM on every plan.

Mara edits the reviews and roundups on VSL Host Report. She looks at how a video player behaves on cold paid traffic: autoplay and unmute behaviour, per-second retention, timed CTAs, lead gates and load speed. She also maps what each host really costs, whether it bills per play, per gigabyte or per seat, and rebuilds the monthly bill for a typical VSL funnel. For each piece she reads long-term user reports across forums and review sites, works through the vendor's own docs and pricing, and confirms the numbers before a verdict goes live.
